Everyone loves a parade! Each year, the Garden Grove Strawberry Festival holds its parade on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend at 10 a.m.
Thousands of people turn out each year to watch the parade and cheer for all the participants including celebrities, dignitaries, the GG Senior King and Queen, the Tiny Tots King and Queen, marching bands, equestrians, cartoon characters and so much more. Each year, the festival board generously subsidizes local high school bands so they can join in the fun. And what fun it is!!
Celebrities, radio personalities, and local dignitaries are honored in the parade. Each year, a special celebrity is selected as the Grand Marshal. Additionally, a the Theme Grand Marshal is chosen as well.
Participants are introduced at approximately 8:45 a.m. at the breakfast held in the Garden Grove Community Center 11300 Stanford Avenue (Stanford and Euclid). After the parade, celebrities are treated to a private lunch and then at approximately 1:00 p.m. most of the celebrities will autograph programs at the Autograph table in front of the Courtyard Center.
