Garden Grove Teachers Honored During Festival and Parade!
The theme of the 56th annual Garden Grove Strawberry Festival is “Honoring Our Exceptional Educators.” In advance of this four-day Memorial Day weekend event – to be held May 23 through 26, 2014 — the festival initiated a “Favorite Teacher” contest in which students in the Garden Grove Unified School District nominated their favorite teachers, counselors, school nurses, bus drivers, secretaries, custodians or other school district employees. Strawberry Festival board members reviewed the entries and selected the following winners based on their merits as described by their student:

Winning teachers were honored by on-air personality Tina Mastramico from radio station KSWB, The Sound LA, at the VIP breakfast Saturday, May 24th. Following the breakfast the winners rode in the parade along with this year’s festival parade Theme Grand Marshal Dr. George West, president of the Garden Grove Unified School District Board of Education.
Each student whose nominee was chosen received two wristbands, each good for a full day of free carnival rides!
