Missy Mendoza is a 23 year old graduate from California State University of Fullerton with a degree in Communications and a concentration in Public Relations. She held the leadership positions of Spirit Chair, Public Relations Chair, Greek Week Outhouse Representative, and Executive Vice President in Alpha Delta Pi. She also held the leadership positions of Athletics Coordinator and Administrative Director for the Titan Tusk Force program of the Associated Students Incorporated, CSUF.

Missy currently works for the City Hall of Garden Grove in the Community Relations Division where she helps manage social media, support City Council, assists with campaigns and special events, and more!

Missy has received almost $8,000 in scholarship money by competing in the Miss Garden Grove and Miss California Scholarship Organizations! She hopes to go back to school to obtain her Master’s Degree in Public Administration with the scholarship money she has won.

In addition to her education and career, Missy has volunteered over 1,000 hours of community service towards non-profit organizations and events benefitting a variety of needs. She is a volunteer for Ronald McDonald House Charities, advocate for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), and Ambassador for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Her platform is DUI Prevention and awareness. During her year of service she has spoken to classrooms throughout the Garden Grove Unified School District, non-profit organizations, and California Universities’ Greek Life about this prominent issue, by increasing the awareness of driving under the influence, changing the attitude about people’s perspectives, and taking action if they are ever in this situation.

Missy is thrilled to serve her hometown of Garden Grove and is looking forward to working with community leaders and businesses during her year of service.
