Leah Cecil is the Garden Grove Festival’s home town pride and joy. The former Miss Garden Grove 2011 went on to win Miss California 2012! At the competition she was a triple preliminary winner in Talent, Swimsuit, and Evening Wear categories. Her platform issue was Compassion for the Convalescing. She is a talented classical harpist, currently teaching at Diamond Bar High School.

Miss Cecil earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from California State University, Fullerton. Her goal is to obtain a Master’s Degree in Business and become a professional harpist and teacher. She is also a Graphic designer of websites, advertisements, and program books.

Miss Cecil has an impressive background in music and community service. She has been principle harpist of six symphony orchestras and is the recipient of the 2011 Bernie Rose Outstanding Musician Scholarship. Miss Cecil is the on-call harpist at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), a frequently requested vocalist for the National Anthem, and was the featured harpist on the 30th Anniversary album of Mariachi Sol De México. She performed as violinist in Wes Craven’s movie “Music of the Heart” starring Meryl Streep, and was one of the performers at the 2000 Democratic Convention. Talented in many arts, Miss Cecil was an award recipient of the Laguna Beach’s Pageant of the Masters Art Festival, Junior Art Gallery, 2007-2008; she was also featured on Orange County’s “Imagination
Celebration” in 2007.

In recognition of her Community service Miss Cecil received 2008 the Soroptimist Award for Community Service. She has been Secretary of the Regional Young Women’s Church Program in 2012 and a member of the California Scholarship Federation 2004-2008. And she was named Eyewitness News ABC 7 Cool Kid in 2008.

Other completion achievements include: Miss California 2011, first runner-up; outstanding talent winner at National

Sweetheart competition 2011; Miss Garden Grove 2011; Miss Anaheim’s Outstanding Teen 2007; Miss California’s Outstanding Teen 2007, second runner-Up.

Fan may have seen her when she was a contestant on the ABC Hit-Show, “WIPEOUT!”
