Brick-Build Contest

Put your LEGO, DUPLO, or other plastic brick-building skills to the test. Participants will be given 30-minutes to build their best representation of our Celebrating Essential Workers theme.

1:00 P.M, Monday, May 30th at the Festival Amphitheater – 12852 Main Street, Garden Grove

Click here to pre-register. We will also have in-person sign-ups at the Festival Amphitheater beginning at 12:00 p.m. to 12:55 p.m on the day of the contest.

Participants must arrive before 12:55 p.m., late arrivals will not be able to participate. Use the main entrance and proceed to the floor of the theater and up the steps located to the right, taking into consideration any performance that may be occurring on stage. All eligible contestants will be accepted.

RULES:

  • Use your own LEGO, DUPLO, plastic bricks
  • Entries must be your own creation, not a designed kit, project found online, in a magazine, etc.
  • Your creation must follow the theme given on the day of the contest.
  • Your creation must be on a base no bigger than 10” x 10”; a standard 32 x 32 stud-baseplate by LEGO is acceptable. The height limit is 24”.
  • Each participant will be given 30-minutes to create.
  • Participants must build within the given theme.
  • During build time participates might be asked questions.
  • Participants will be required to talk about their creation for 1-3 minutes.
  • Participants will be judged in 4 categories:
    • 5-7 years old
    • 8-10 years old
    • 12-14 years old
    • 15-17 years old
  • Winners will be chosen for the following in each age group category:
    1. Best Representation of Theme
    2. Most Creative
  • Decisions of Judges will be final.
