Tyree Brown portrays Jabbar Trussell, Crosby and Jasmine’s young son on the popular show Parenthood. Brown’s natural ability to act and improvise alongside his co-star, Dax Shepherd, at such a young age earned him a series regular position on the show. He won a Young Artist Award for his supporting role on “Parenthood” in 2013.
After guest starring on his first TV comedy, Mr. Box Office, in 2013, Brown realized how much he enjoys doing comedy. He has done voiceover work for Walmart, U.S. Cellular and Pixar. He lent his voice to the Pixar movie Monsters University and voiced the role of Young Kristoff in the Disney movie Frozen.
He has also done several print advertisements for Pottery Barn Kids, AT&T, Clorox, and Red Envelope. He worked on his first Walmart commercial at age four and at age five, he auditioned for the Parenthood pilot.
In his spare time, Brown loves playing with his friends, going to the movies, swimming at the beach, going to amusement parks and playing sports such as soccer, basketball and football. His parents have made sure that his life stays balanced by limiting his acting in the summertime and allowing him to just be the “kid next door” who rides his bike and plays Xbox with the neighborhood boys. His summer tradition is to swim in his aunt’s pool at every chance and play with his Sacramento cousins.
Brown currently lives in Sacramento and Los Angeles with his mom, dad, grandmother and sister Mackenzie.
