As a Southern California native, Shawn Parr has had a long-term involvement with country music. He grew up in Norwalk, CA and attended John Glenn High School.

Soon after becoming the warm-up personality for the TV show “Hot Country Nights”, and the announcer for the Academy of Country Music Awards, KZLA brought him on board to do the Afternoon Drive which eventually led him to the helm of the KZLA Morning Show. Shawn Parr has long been considered a major champion of Country music and after a brief hiatus from radio when KZLA went off the air, he would return as the Morning Host at Go Country105.1 where today doing Mid-days he is the driving force behind Country music in Southern California.

In addition to his work at Go Country 105, Shawn is on the Board of Directors for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and hosts his own annual golf tournament benefiting the John Tracy Clinic. Shawn has expanded his career to include being the voice of The Academy of Country Music Awards, Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon, The Golden Globes, The American Music Awards, plus numerous television shows, commercials, voice-overs, and major motion pictures.

Shawn says his favorite place to hang out is at the lake wakeboarding with his kids, but you can also find him on the golf course. When asked what would he be if he weren’t a DJ and Shawn replied, “A professional golfer on the P.G.A. Tour.”

Shawn’s Aunt lived on Chapman Avenue in Garden Grove and he visited often especially during The Strawberry Festival which became an annual event for all of his family. To say Shawn is excited to be involved this year is an understatement!
