Miss Outstanding Teen Sara Silberman
Sara Silberman is a 15-year-old sophomore at Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA). She has been studying with the Classical and Contemporary Dance conservatory for the past four years. Dancing since the age of two, Sara has always been focused on her ballet training, performances being her favorite part of the year.
Sara is very active in the arts and hopes to get as many people involved in them as she can. Outside of dance, Sara also loves to read. A book store or the library is where she would prefer to reside in her free time. She hopes to attend a 4-year university after high school, where she can continue this passion for reading and study English, one day becoming a high school English teacher. Sara also loves working with children. She loves to volunteer at day camps in the summer, and teaches ballet classes for 9-12 year olds at OCSA. Through her platform, Arts for Education, Sara blends this passion with her love for the arts, by promoting and encouraging children to become active in some sort of creative outlet. She started the program, Intro to the Arts, in local libraries, which introduces them to a new art form each month. She hopes to expand this program throughout Garden Grove with the Miss Garden Grove’s Outstanding Teen title. Sara is a creative, hard-working, confident girl. As Miss Garden Grove’s Outstanding Teen 2014, she will get to organize, lead, and meet new people, which are some of her favorite things to do. This is Sara’s second time going through the Miss America Organization, and she couldn’t be more excited to get to represent Garden Grove this year at Miss California’s Outstanding Teen competition. She is honored to work with the city, and is looking forward to her year of service and everything that comes along with it.
