GuardettesThe mission of the Guardettes is to inspire an appreciation for dance by providing affordable high quality dance instruction through a family oriented program, offering both performance and competitive experiences throughout the community and beyond.

The Guardettes of Orange County originated in 1960 as a 12-member drill team that represented Garden Grove in local parades. Over 50 years later, the Guardette Program representing all of Orange County continues to dance on, with over 65 participants that perform and/or compete all over Southern California and nationwide.

The Guardettes of Orange County are divided into two groups, the Performance Team and the Competition Team. Both teams participate in group events such as community performances, team sleepovers, pizza parties, team banquets, the Strawberry Festival, team trips and the annual Guardette Spring Show.

The Performance Team is for youth at the beginning and intermediate levels, and membership is on a registration basis. The group focuses on the training of basic dance skills, performing, confidence and team building. Participants are divided into groups based on ability and enrollment. The Performance Team practices Saturday mornings and participates in performances throughout the year, such as: community events, The Santa Ana Zoo, The Garden Grove Strawberry Festival, and our annual Guardette Spring Show.
